Gay Pride Rainbow Print 8"x10"
In Poland, as in many parts of the world, LGBTQIA+ folks are still fighting against exclusion, violence, and oppression. As a queer person of Polish descent, I wanted to make some pride papercuttings to celebrate LGBTQIA+ in Poland and beyond! This is an 8”x10” giclee print of my gay pride papercutting. It features two gentlemen in traditional Lowicz-style costumes, but with the gay flag colors incorporated in their pants. Between them is a rainbow, the symbol of LGBTQIA+ pride! The flowers in this piece are also symbolic: pansies, which have been reclaimed a couple times throughout history to celebrate vibrant queerness, despite some trying to use it as an insult, and a green carnation, which Oscar Wilde popularized as a gay symbol, and which appears on the MLM flag. These 8”x10” prints are on acid-free cotton-based paper and are signed.
